A week or two ago, KC mentioned on Twitter that her very nearly three-year-old girl had been talking about autumn and leaf piles, but seeing as how their family lives in the Arizona desert, there weren't really any jumpable piles available. Meryl chimed in and said that she had a leaf overage in her midwestern backyard and would be happy to mail a few in time for little miss' birthday. I figured Vermont could probably spare a few leaves as well.
So, yesterday afternoon, I mailed a box of autumn to Arizona. I had hoped to send a bigger box, but found myself limited to what I could carry with baby Z. on one hip since he will not go into the stroller. Ever. Under any circumstances. Which means that it is a smallish sized box, but it still should provide a bit of good crunch under newly three-year-old toes.
In other news, I do want to thank everyone yet again for the incredible deluge of emails and comments about residency locations. My inbox has been full of useful and encouraging information all week long, and I am just so grateful for the support! A couple of new possibilities popped up this week. One is in California (Stanford) so it's a known quantity and we are probably okay information-wise. But the other is in Rochester, Minnesota and I am definitely curious to know if anyone has anything to share about the Rochester area or life as a Mayo family. You know where to find me!
