Happy Weekend! This week:
- I started work on an extra super fun and very fantastic project that I cannot wait to share with you. My self imposed deadline is the first day of spring. Hold me to it?
- Put my very rusty fingers to work stitching and stuffing foxes and rabbits. It has been a good, long while!
- Officially came to the conclusion that spring can come any time now. Really.
- Checked the weather forecast. Eight more inches of snow this weekend.
- Went grocery shopping and forgot the most important items on my list. Again.
- Tried very hard not to think about the fact that I am in competition for an amazing graduate fellowship and that it may be many more weeks before I get any news. And, that I can't really do anything but wait. Gladly accepting all happy and positive thoughts about this if you have any to spare!
- Made my favorite gingerbread cake. I strongly suggest that you do the same.
- Got stuck inside my winter coat because of a broken zipper. What did I say about spring again?
- Felt very lucky to be part of The Magnifying Glass. Such cool fellow contributors and so many great things coming up!
- Was reminded again of the fact that despite my best intentions, there isn't a whole lot that I can do to protect my students from the sadness and difficulty they may encounter when they leave my classroom each day. Nothing new, but always hard.
- Started getting seed catalogs in the mail. Dreaming of summer and sprouts and handfuls of soft earth and...
- Began reading this beautifully illustrated version of Pippi Longstocking to Mariam. Hilarious and crazy and so much fun. What took me so long?
