Mariam did most of the actual printing herself and all was going swimmingly until we got into the glitter. See, the girl wanted glitter and I went with it. Kind of a big mistake. Our house now looks like the Disney princesses ice-capades show vomited sparkle everywhere. It's really amazing actually. Our folded laundry was sitting on the couch during the moment of real glitter madness (when Mariam spilled most of the jar on her dress and then shook it off) and I'm sure that we'll be finding glitter in our socks for months and months to come. I seriously had to put her in the shower and hose her down afterwards.
As far as printing with kids is concerned, I saw this post on printing with kids the other day and was really inspired. Mariam is just now starting to draw things that look like something- people, animals etc. and some of her drawings are really great and interesting. I like the idea of turning them into something more.
